Mesocosms set-up and filling is a key moment and it takes about 12-16 h. Bags are sewed to the floating rings with rope and then filled with fjord water that is pumped up from 6 m depth. This is done carefully not to overload them, otherwise they will sink down. Next step is to deploy the aitlifts which ensure water mixing within the mesocosms and finally the lids will be place on top of them to avoid contamination.
